IFS as a Lens for Organizational Analysis and Intervention
As a purely systemic model, Internal Family Systems (IFS) is applicable to systems of every scale. The same dynamics that govern an individual's internal system (Managers, Firefighters, Exiles, and the Self) are mirrored in larger systems, such as teams, organizations, and societies.
The application of the model at the organizational level is particularly compelling, offering an exceptionally clear, innovative, and compassionate framework for understanding human networks and intervening within groups and systems.
In the context of teams, each member carries their own internal system—shaped by their personal history—which interacts continuously with the systems of their colleagues. This dynamic dialogue shapes the overall team culture, which in turn maintains a bidirectional relationship of influence with the broader organizational culture.
At "Teams Unlocked," we have designed a flagship experiential training program focused on team dynamics—the only application of the IFS model in Greece tailored specifically for the corporate environment.
Our approach is grounded in a meticulous process of observation: we analyze the state of the individual internal systems within a team and decode the team's collective identity. By linking these insights to the organizational culture, we propose targeted interventions that enhance Self-Leadership at both individual and collective levels.
Our objective is to facilitate a transition from reactive self-protection mechanisms to a state of psychological safety, where the team functions with clarity, connection, and strategic alignment. This program is the result of extensive research and observation, constituting a unique proposition in the field of organizational development.
